My Projects

Reuleaux Triangle Wheels, 2021 Fall

This project was born in ME103 at UC Berkele that produced a viral tiktok video with millions of views.  The final presentation and report of the prject can be found here and here.

Low-cost air conditioning and humidifier IOT, 2020 Fall

This project was born in ME100 at UC Berkeley. The end product video can be accessed here. The final presentation can be found here.

Free Phone Charge System on Bike, 2020 Spring - Fall

This project was born in Engineering 27 course at UC Berkeley. My teammates and me developed such a hardware kit that will allow you to charge your phone while biking. You will still be able to use the phone as GPS or video camera and do not need to worry about battery at all. It does not only help individual's biking experience but also environmental friendly energy industry.

Update on 9/10/2020: We received around $400 grant from Berkeley Jacobs Institution to build a final product/prototype by the end of the 2020 fall semester.
Update on 12/23/2020: Thank for much help we were able to receive from the Berkeley community, the project is now published on Instructables! Do check it out: www.instructables.com/B-Charge-Minimalistically-Designed-Bicycle-USB-Cha/

Wind Turbine, 2019 Fall

This project is the final project in Engineering 26. It is the project that introduced me the power of 3D printing. Our turbine produced above 2V power.

Ansys Analysis of Torsional Rigidity of a Car, 2019 Fall -- 2020 Spring

UC Berkeley Solar Vehicle Team
  • Created CAD model for using Ansys to analyze torsional rigidity of the structure

Fabrication of CCTV camera mount, 2019 Fall -- 2020 Spring

Cal Space Technologies and Rocketry
  • Fabricated CCTV camera mount with laser cutter
  • Initiated the design for a 3D printable control box

Fabrication of a Practice Field for Robotics, 2019 Fall --2020 Spring

RoboMaster at Berkeley
  • Design and manufacture mechanical parts for additional supports on the robot
  • Design and fabricate a practice field
Our efforts of building a more robust practice filed was suspended by COVID19, but the team was able to successfully put up a first version, easy-built practice field with polycarbonate

Toilet General, 2016 Spring

Toilet General was the first robot that I had ever built. It is the project that made me later fall in love with engineering. It functions as a cart that would follow a predesigned dark line on floor of a public restroom. Ideally when you need toilet paper because you find out that there is no toilet paper left in your stall, you just need to click on a red button on the side of the wall, then Toilet General will drive to your stall and deliver it to you under the door.
