Future In Plan

Micro Electro-mechanical System (MEMS)

Bioprinting / Biofabrication for Drug Testing

Dr.Jordan Miller, Dr. Mark Skylar-Scott, and Dr.Hossein Heidari's work really inspired me to study biofabrication of vascular structure.

Combine 3D printer with flying robot

The limitations of FDM plastic/metal 3D printing include but are not limited to the size of the building room, resolution, and mix of multiple materials. While there have been solutions (such as double extruders and robot arm) attempting to solve those problems, I wish to solve it from a different angle -- combination of 3D printer and the flying bots.

Dystopian story about rhetorical skill

I wish to talk with people in different disciplines about what the society would be like if all people have a scientific/philosophical mind -- whenever you make a decision or perceive a new argument, you analyze it with statistics, rhetorical, and scientific principle behind it. You would not simply believe in what the medias or the society leaders tell you (of course, in such a world, media would be entirely different) but to trust the power of decoding an argument and to understand everything from the very essence of it. It perhaps is more like a highly educated society where rhetorical skills and critical thinking are well practiced by every single person to perceive arguments and build her or his own belief system purely by rationale. Would the economic system still exist? How would politics exist ? How would the world leaders react differently from COVID19 ? How would the education be like? Will innovations be invented in a much faster way ? How will family exist ? Will there be any love/hate/emotions exist or would those feelings still be as powerful as they are now? How would curiosity. passion, or fantasy be redefined in this society? How will entertainment and cultural industry evolve?

Is the real advantage of human beings is their abilities of both thinking and feeling?

I found that this idea has some similarities with Brave New World , but there should be many differences as well. i am not sure if human, being sentimental creatures, will ever be able to imagine and write such a story. I wish to make friends who are great writers and thinkers and talk them into writing such a story.

I also earlier had the idea about a society where everyone only uses 3D printers to print whatever they need (including food, beverage, toilet paper, pans, clothes, and so on). What if Every Home Had a 3D Printer? i don't hope it becomes a dystopian story, however. I think 3D printer might be a tool that can really improve the aesthetic of the human society, which is a crucial step for everybody to access true freedom as an individual.

3D printing satellites on orbits

This is a interviewing prompt for STAC. I think it is a very interesting and challenging engineering idea. If we can really 3D print a satellite in space instead of manufacturing one and sending it to the orbit, it will greatly reduce the cost of making a satellite and take off all the cost for launching one. Obviously, this project is not all about additive manufacturing but also about redesigning a satellite that can be solely printed, building a robot arm on orbit for printing, and so many other aspects that we need to rethink about. However, if this can be achieved, a new era of aerospace will be started, We can perhaps also print a whole space station, and then a space craft, and then .... Definitely an idea that is worth to think about and try to implement.

Find human unity in peaceful time

This thought is actually inspired by The Walking Dead. Can unity only be found in crisis ? How can humans be united without global crisis happening ? I think that this question can be best attempted from philosophy, humanitarian, and social science lenses at first.
