Aerial Photograph, 2020 Fall
On Oct 19th, I helped my friend Brian Muldoon shoot photos and videos for a builder in San Francisco as a visual line of sight (VLOS) observer. It was a really cool experience to see a drone shooting photos in person. Check out his aerial photography services!
3D Printing Presentation, 2020 Summer
I gave a 3D printing presentation online to about 1200 high school students around Africa (primarily Nigeria, Ghana, Egypt, South Africa, Tanzania) through FIRST Robotics. I did this as a mentor of Code Orange. I really enjoyed it! Here is the powerpoint that I used.
Scandic Manufacturing Trip, 2020 Spring
Scandic is the largest stamping and spring company in Northern California. I was able to make a trip to it because of Design 97 with Professor Hayden Taylor. I also visited Nor-Cal Metal Fabricator before COVID19 epidemic broke out in the US. Scandic was gorgeous. All those dies and autonomous tools for making tools are super stunning. They were all so beautiful and inspirational. This trip, for sure, reassured me my interest in manufacturing; I could not help with staring and touching those parts. I look forwards to attending more manufacturing trips in the future when the world could function safely. I am going to take this class for as many times as it offers; if i continue my graduate study in Berkeley, I would really love to be the GSI for attending those trips one/a couple more time(s).
STAC Social, 2020 Spring
|
STAC as a school team focuses on research about space technology. It functions very differently from all other student teams that I have seen. Its extraordinary ability on researching and organizing large efforts deeply attracts me, and I have very much enjoyed the company of my teammates who are highly intelligent and kind engineers.

Volunteer for Expanding your Horizon, 2020 Spring
|
Expanding your Horizon is an event held for elementary/middle school girls who are interested in learning more about STEAM. In this event, I met a great workshop partner — an awesome chemical engineer — and five fantastic PhD students. Three of them are from Professor Hannah Stuart’s lab; they work on very cool bio-inspired robots that not only inspire the kids but also myself! I would really love to pursue some projects on this topic in the future

COSMOS Summer Camp at UC Davis, 2018
COSMOS is THE program that got me into Mechanical Engineering. Before the camp, I thought that I would be either a quantum physicist or a computer scientist. I am still so appreciate my professors and TAs in COSMOS; they really taught me what mechanical and aerospace engineering are. Professor Hafez liked to give student money ($1) each time you caught him making a mistake, had a great question or gave a good presentation; I got $3 in the camp and I am still keeping them in the back of ipda case. I fell in love with Mechanical Engineering in COSMOS, and COSMOS is the reason why I could study Mechanical Engineering and enjoying it so much in university.
